In 1970, the Wyoming State Museum received the donation of an original Yellowstone touring wagon. Its history was unknown but recent conservation efforts uncovered a wealth of information about the wagon's past. Join the museum's Supervisor of Collections, Jim Allison, for a short history of early wagon tourism in Yellowstone National Park as well as an examination of the details found during the 2016 Yellowstone wagon conservation project. The Wyoming State Museum’s Thursday Night Lecture Series is held the second Thursday of each month, September - May, at 7:00 p.m. The Lecture Series is free and open to the public. The Wyoming State Museum is located in the Barrett Building, 2301 Central Avenue in Cheyenne. For more information, contact Nathan Doerr, Curator of Education, at 307-777-7021.
