Oral history project starts in Sublette County

Wyoming – The American Heritage Center's Alan K. Simpson Institute is in the beginning stages of an oral history project in Sublette County, to document the effects of the recent energy boom there. Archivist Leslie Waggener is overseeing the project. She tells Molly Messick there aren't many existing resources in the state that take a broad look at the economic, social and environmental effects of contemporary energy booms.

New study looks at loss of ag land and its impact on wildlife

Wyoming – A study from a few years ago showed that of all counties in Wyoming Sublette is the most at risk of losing agricultural land to other uses. Now the University of Wyoming's Ruckelshaus Institute of Environment and Natural Resources has picked up on that with a new report showing how the loss of ranch land affects wildlife. Abby Mellinger (mell ING urr) is the primary author of the report she tells Bob Beck this report focuses on Sublette County but the theme is applicable statewide.

A land trust expands its reach to entire state

Wyoming – This week, the Green River Valley Land Trust announced that it will expand to work statewide, as the Wyoming Land Trust. Executive Director Lara Ryan tells Molly Messick they made the decision based on high levels of interest from landowners not only in Sublette County, but in the rest of the state as well.
