Wildlife officials relocate a grizzly

Laramie, WY – Authorities have trapped and relocated a grizzly bear in northwestern Wyoming.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department said Tuesday that an adult female grizzly was moved Saturday to the Boone Creek drainage in the Caribou Targhee National Forest. That's about 25 miles northwest of Moran.
The department says the bear was moved because it was a frequent visitor to the landfill in Clark.

Wyoming delegation praises court's gun ruling

Cheyenne, Wyo. – Wyoming's congressional delegation is praising the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that Americans have the right to own a gun for self-defense anywhere they live.

The court said Monday that the Second Amendment right "applies equally to the federal government and the states."

The ruling came in a lawsuit filed by gun rights proponents who challenged gun control laws in Chicago and its suburb of Oak Park, Ill.

Glendo flooding costs local community

Laramie, Wyo. – Flooding at Glendo State Park will peak on July 4th. Water levels have been high at the reservoir for more than a month. More than half of the park's campsites are flooded and 90 percent of park facilities are unusable.

2nd man to be sentenced in Wyo. Internet rape case

Casper – Sentencing is scheduled for a man who pleaded guilty in the rape of a Casper woman that was arranged using the Internet.

Ty Oliver McDowell, of Bar Nunn, is due in district court Tuesday. He has pleaded guilty to felony charges in the case.

Prosecutors say the 27-year-old McDowell responded to an ad on the Internet site Craiglist seeking a man to carry out a "rape fantasy" for the victim. Prosecutors say McDowell attacked the woman as she was entering her home in December.

State epidemiologist says West Nile detected

Laramie, Wyo. – The State Epidemiologist says it is hard to tell if this will be a bad year for West Nile Virus. The virus is mosquito-borne, and Dr. Tracy Murphy says there are several variables that can affect the number of mosquitoes in Wyoming - among them, standing water.
