Dispute at Northwest College over recruitment letter

Powell, WY – Some students and faculty at Northwest College in Powell are upset the college president sent a recruitment letter to area teens who are members of the Mormon church.

The letter from Paul Prestwich touted the opportunities the school offers to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Prestwich is a member of the LDS church, and he
sent the letter to a list of high school students provided by the church.

Supporters of sexual assault bill pressure Senate

Cheyenne, WY – Supporters of a proposal to enact a 25-year mandatory minimum sentence for adults convicted of sexually assaulting children under 13 in Wyoming are pressuring the state Senate to pass the measure.

The Wyoming House approved House Bill 64 last week. The bill is set for consideration by the Senate Labor Committee.
