Obama signs "Wolf Kill Bill"

Washington, DC – A public lands bill signed yesterday by President Obama includes a program under which ranchers could get money from the federal government to compensate them for livestock killed by wolves.

Democratic Sen. Jon Tester of Montana and Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming sponsored the so-called "Wolf Kill Bill," which authorizes the federal government to spend up to 1 million dollars annually on the 5-year demonstration program.

So far, WYDOT budget intact after storms

Laramie, WY – The Wyoming Department of Transportation does not yet know how much the recent storms cost in terms of snow removal. Wy-DOT spokesperson, Dave Kingham, says normally statewide storms - like the two that hit last week - cost about a million dollars. He says that's a cost WYDOT can handle, so far: "We do have several million still in the budget, but we do expect more spring storms too."

Kingham says if there is money left over they hope to use it to buy new snowplows.
