Albany county landowners oppose property purchase.

Laramie, Wy – A petition signed by 30 landowners near Laramie who oppose the acquiring of ranch land that could be used for public recreation has been submitted to the Albany County Commission and Laramie City Council.
The petition submitted last week says the landowners object to
the possible buying of the land from the Warren Livestock Co. and
its subsidiaries.
About 15,000 acres are being sold with a 2009 market value of
$180,000.
Specifically, the petition targets a Specific Purpose Tax that
is up for renewal in May and could raise money to purchase the
land.
Property owners in the area are concerned the land could be used
for hiking and biking trails going from public roads near Laramie
east to the Medicine Bow National Forest.
The landowners say some of the trails would cross their private
land.
