Arapaho, WY – A prominent linguist is coming to the Arapaho School District this week to teach the grammatical structure of the Arapaho Language. Symposium organizer William C'Hair says linguist Zdenek Salzmann visited once before in the 70s. Now C'Hair says he is going to reintroduce Salzmann to his people, because "the time is ripe and the time is right."
C'Hair says he thinks the Arapaho people are seeing the value of their language, which has very few remaining speakers. He says Arapaho people will be coming from as far away as Oklahoma and Montana to attend the symposium. It will be held today through Friday.
