Cheyenne, Wyo. – A Denver lawyer says the University of Wyoming has not responded to his threat to sue unless it lets former 1960s radical William Ayers speak on campus.
Attorney David Lane sent the school a letter earlier this week saying the university violated the First Amendment when it canceled a speech Ayers was scheduled to give last week. Lane threatened a lawsuit if UW didn't permit Ayers to speak on campus.
Lane had given the university until noon Wednesday to respond. Lane said Wednesday that he had not heard back from the university and that he was preparing to file a lawsuit.
University spokeswoman Jessica Lowell declined comment.
