AVA Community Art Center - Gillette

The Advocacy for Visual Arts, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the visual arts in Gillette, Wyoming by working in partnership with the community to support a place for inspiration, expression, and education.

AVA offers exhibition space, art classes for all ages, summer youth programs, and a gift shop featuring local and regional artists.

…Recycle, Refurbish, Reuse…

Be inspired by creative recycled art pieces made by local artists and students. This show encourages the art of recycling old, unused items into new pieces of art. There will be a free public reception on April 13 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

APRIL CLASSES

Pre-School Art                                      

April 3,10,17,24 from 2-3pm   

Class Fee: $5

Alexia Duncan will be teaching this class which is directed at 3-5 year old children. She will be focusing on skills that will prepare them for kindergarten. Class will be held every Tuesday afternoon.

Grade School Pottery                                     

April  3,10,17,24 from 4-5pm

Class Fee: $12.50     Member Fee: $10

Children will start by making pieces with their hands and eventually the wheel will be introduced. Class will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 4-5pm.

Mommy & Me                                   

April  4, 11, 18, 25 from 1-2 pm  

Class Fee: $15     Member Fee: $12.50

A different project will be introduced each week in this class designed specifically for moms and toddlers.

Grade School Drawing                    

April  4, 11, 18, 25 from 4-5 pm

This is a perfect opportunity for your child to get some quality drawing skills in a small setting for a very reasonable price!

Home School Kids                            

April  5,12,19,26 from 2:00-3:30 pm

Little Tikes

Class Fee: $5

Megan will surprise and amaze your kids in these one hour morning classes. This class focuses on age-appropriate projects for 18 months-6 years old. Games, music, and other activities are also incorporated into this class.

Van Gogh Kiddos!

Each month the instructors will offer a different painting to work on. New or experienced painters welcome! This is an uncorked class for kids! AVA will supply the canvas, paint, brushes and fun instructor! Children will go home after class with a completed painting. You provide your own drink and snack.

Puppet Making                 

April  14, 21, 28 from 10-11:30am

Students will learn to make a different puppet each week. Use your creativity to bring your puppet to life each Saturday in this educational fun class. Each class charged separately. All supplies included.

In celebrating EARTH MONTH, Sandi Aberle is teaching this class to decorate your own reusable bag for shopping or anything you need to tote around!  Create your own canvas bag using a variety of paints, stencils, sponges, shapes and other cool stuff from AVA’s art supply. 7 and under require parent participation in the class.
