Cheyenne, Wy – A public policy group says two Wyoming Republican lawmakers who criticized federal stimulus spending have advocated for millions of dollars for Wyoming projects.
The reports by the Center for Public Integrity said that Sen. John Barrasso
and Rep. Cynthia Lummis have continued to send letters to government agencies on behalf of constituents seeking funds. A spokeswoman for Sen. Mike Enzi, a Republican who also opposed the stimulus package, says he hasn't endorsed any applications for
stimulus funds. Lummis says part of her job is to support constituents who
seeking federal aid. A Barrasso spokeswoman says he has "occasionally" asked
agencies to give Wyoming requests a fair hearing.
