Laramie, WY – Senator John Barrasso says his colleague arrested in a Minneapolis restroom for disorderly conduct should keep his word and resign from the Senate. Republican Senator Larry Craig of Idaho continues to vote in Washington even though a judge upheld the senator's guilty plea earlier this month. The senator said he would resign if the judge upheld the plea, but then Craig issued another statement saying he would stay in the Senate and finish his term. Senator Barrasso says Senator Craig should keep his promise.
"Well, I think he ought to keep his word," Barrasso said. "He made a statement, took a position and I think he ought to keep with it."
Police arrested Craig during an airport sex sting in August.
