Barrasso turns to Bush for help
Laramie, WY – Once again, some 550-million dollars the state is owed by the federal government is in limbo. The money, from the Abandoned Mine Land fund is expected this October, but Senator John Barrasso says federal officials are trying to give Wyoming less then it is owed. Barrasso says whenever he asks about the money, federal officials hem and haw, so he has sent a letter to President Bush asking him to use executive powers to get the money. Barrasso says government officials have given him a number of excuses for why Wyoming may get less then expected.
Barrasso says the President used to be a Governor and should understand what it is like to deal with Government officials. He remains hopeful that the issue will be resolved.
