Barrasso wants Army Corps of Engineers to pay for Cheyenne water contamination
Cheyenne, Wy – Senator John Barrasso wants the federal government to pay back state and Cheyenne officials for the cleanup of some contaminated water.
Trichloroethylene was found contaminating Cheyenne water wells many years ago, and most city and state officials say the cause was a missile site where T-C-E had been dumped. But for years the department of defense refused to take responsibility. But during a speech on the floor of the U-S Senate, Barrasso said he has a new report that proves that the Army Corps of Engineers is at fault and should be responsible for the cleanup.
Barrasso says Wyoming taxpayers dollars has unfairly paid for the cleanup of the contaminated area.
