Laramie, WY – A bear with a recent history of raiding cars and sniffing around tents in search of food was tranquilized and euthanized in Grand Teton National Park.
It was the third black bear killed in the park this summer. Park spokeswoman Jackie Skaggs says a total of 10 problem bears have been killed in the park and nearby areas this year.
She says that makes for an unusually bad year for bear problems. The latest bear killed was a female that had become increasingly bold in seeking out human food.
The bear even raided an open car trunk while a man was standing nearby. The man shooed the bear off, only to have the bear return and climb into the car's front seat.
