BLM: Energy rights to 92,000 acres up for auction
Cheyenne, Wyo. – The federal government plans to auction off oil and gas rights to nearly 92,000 acres of land in Wyoming in August.
On Monday the U.S. Bureau of Land Management released the list of 83 parcels up for auction. They include land from nine BLM field offices in Wyoming - Buffalo, Casper, Kemmerer, Lander, Newcastle, Pinedale, Rawlins, Rock Springs and Worland.
The sale will be Aug. 3 at the Holiday Inn in Cheyenne.
The BLM auctioned off a record $32.3 million in oil and gas rights in May amid speculation that a major oil play could be in the offing in the eastern part of the state.
