B.L.M. Seeks Input Into Drilling Proposal
Laramie, Wy – The U-S Bureau of Land Management is asking the public to review a proposal from Questar. The company is asking to conduct limited year-round drilling, and build a 110-mile pipeline in western Wyoming.
The proposal applies to a portion of Questar's leases which lie within big-game winter range near Pinedale.
A public open house and meeting will be held July 29th at the Pinedale Volunteer Fire Department from 3 until 8 o'clock.
Seasonal restrictions to protect big game, sage grouse and other sensitive species were outlined in a July 2000 record of decision for the Pinedale Anticline.
Questar proposes that the B-L-M allow year-round drilling on its
leased portion of seasonally protected habitat.
The company says that by using new technology and multiple wells per pad, the total number of wells and overall surface disturbance would be reduced.
