Both Sides Ready To Battle On School Finance

Laramie, Wy – Now that the Supreme Court has said it is up to a Laramie County District Court to hear the merits of the school finance case, attorneys on both sides will spend the next few months preparing to return to court. The state had wanted the Supreme Court to declare all the work that has been done revamping the school funding model as constitutional. But the court says that is up to District Judge Nicholas Kalokathis. State Attorneys have pointed to all the new money that has gone into education as a way to bolster their position. But Wyoming Education Association Attorney Pat Hacker says the case is about more then money. All sides will meet in January to determine when the case will be heard in court.
