Laramie, Wy – The University of Wyoming has an extra 10-million dollars to boost energy research. The oil and gas company B-P gave U-W 5 million dollars and the state has agreed to match the gift. The money will help pay for U-W's school of energy resources and research in wind power. B-P senior vice president Andy Hopwood says the gift will help keep educated industry leaders in Wyoming.
You will create a flow of people who leave this university and lead it and it will create a flow a people that are predominately from Wyoming .
Hopwood says the industry has been slow to develop new technology. He says the money will help fund the research to change that.
