Budget becomes law

Cheyenne, Wyo – The state budget is now law.

With three minor line-item vetoes, Governor Dave Freudenthal signed the budget bill and expressed satisfaction that it sustains initiatives the state has been pursuing.

Those range from increased highway funding to more money for the Wildlife Trust Fund.

The governor says he is also pleased with the extra money local governments will receive, and he admits it was fascinating to follow the debate.

But in the end, Freudenthal says he thinks local government was treated well.
