Gillette, Wy – The Wyoming Business Council board is
expected to decide tomorrow (Wednesday) whether to approve a
one-(m)-million grant for a nonprofit group in Gillette.
The group, Imagine Jackson, seeks to create well-paying jobs for
highly skilled workers. Members of the group say that building the
building would help the group to fulfill its mission.
But Wyoming Business Council staff members say that the Business
Council should NOT approve the grant. The staff members say that
the group's business plan is NOT specific enough.
For example, there are NO details on what types of businesses
would occupy the leased space.
The grant application is the subject of a lawsuit that has been
filed against the town of Jackson, which is sponsoring the
application. The lawsuit says the grant would violate the state
