Cheyenne, WY – Black Friday seems to have been a busy one around the state. Sales at major outlets drew shoppers. In Casper there were people lined up last night (Thursday) at ten o'clock outside of one store. In Cheyenne the manager of Frontier Mall, Ken Burke, says he's heard sales are up. He says they have actually seen an increase in sales since the end of October.
"And so the feeling is that people have been holding back spending for a long time and now they're getting a little frustrated by it. If that is the case then I think we'll be in great shape. If something goes wrong economically, politically or whatever else who knows what will happen with it. Right now we feel relatively calm that we're on the right path doing the right things."
Burke says the nice weather today (Friday) may have helped get shoppers out. He says he'll have to wait until Christmas Eve to know for sure if this was a good year.
