Laramie, Wy – A fire started by National Guard soldiers during target practice at Camp Guernsey in eastern Wyoming has grown. It's now up to 65 hundred acres.
More than 120 firefighters, two commercial air tankers and
Wyoming Army National Guard helicopters are fighting the fire.
Deputy Camp Commander Lieutenant Colonel Deanne Vogel says officials believe a tracer round fired from an automatic weapon started the fire. Tracer rounds have now been banned until weather conditions improve.
But Vogel says units are still training at the camp.
