Candidates Help State's Economy

Cheyenne, Wy – Records show that candidates for the state legislature spent about 420 thousand dollars during the general election.
The candidates spending the most were from Cheyenne, Jackson and Casper. Across the state political hopefuls spent money on things you'd expect like ads, signs and mailings, but they also purchased balloons, streamers, donuts, victory parties, one candidate even paid for an Oktoberfest at a senior's center, while another politician who is also an educator reported that he bought clothes for a needy student with campaign money. Most of the donations came from political action committees, but small businesses also pitched in- in the form of services, like sign making. And for one legislator nine hair cuts.
