Wyoming – You hear a lot about Carbon capture and sequestration. The concept is to mitigate the impacts on climate change by capturing carbon dioxide emissions from energy facilities and storing the gas underground. Wyoming is among the leaders in trying to find a commercial way to store the gas. If the state is successful, the coal industry says it could worth over a billion dollars to the state coal industry. State Geologist Ron Surdam is also the director of the school of energy resources institute for carbon management. Surdam told Bob Beck that finding a way to store carbon dioxide correctly is very important.
