Casper Police Make Arrest in Two Decade Old Murder

Laramie, Wy – A 20-year-old murder investigation has finally led to an arrest.
Authorities in Natrona County have charged a 43-year-old Colorado man with murder in the 1986 death of a Casper hospital worker.
Tammy Dively's body was found south of Casper on April 28, 1986. Dively had been run over numerous times by a vehicle. The case remained unsolved until Natrona County investigators began reviewing it earlier this year.
Charged with second-degree murder is Jeffery Smith, of Parachute, Colorado. If convicted, he faces 20 years to life in prison.
Natrona County District Attorney Mike Blonigen says Smith has been in jail in Colorado on a car theft charge in Garfield County, Colorado.
Authorities say that D-N-A evidence provided a crucial break in
the case.
