Castle Doctrine debated in Senate
Cheyenne, WY – Senators are deciding what to do about a bill that would allow someone to use deadly force in life threatening situations.
The Castle Doctrine would also provide the person who did the killing with a form of immunity.
Gun rights groups have fully endorsed the measure, but some Senators fear that it has some unintended consequences. Senator John Hastert fears that it would allow people to bait others into deadly conflicts.
Senator Tony Ross says he supports the concept of being able to protect someone's home and family, but says that the bill needs to be reworked.
The Senate will debate the measure two more times.
