Cheyenne Ponders Rec Center
Laramie, Wy – The city of Cheyenne is looking at the feasibility of building a community rec center. The study should be done by mid October, but to go ahead voters will have to approve a one cent sales tax increase. In the past Cheyenne residents rejected similar proposals. Director of Recreation, Tom Bogan, says he's not exactly sure why that was, but a change in ballot rules could help because before voters had to approve all proposed projects, but now they the ability to choose individual projects.
Bogan says there is a need for more gym space in Cheyenne. He says right now they are trying to get feedback from the public before they decide how big and expensive the center would be.
