Laramie, WY – Chronic Wasting disease has once again been found in Fremont County. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says a mule deer harvested in the Ferris Mountains has CWD.
Chronic Wasting Disease affects the brain, but Game and Fish Spokeswoman Erin Smith says it's never been linked to a human. But they do urge hunters to use caution and issue guidelines for handling an infected animal.
After being a southeast Wyoming disease, Smith says it is showing up in other locations. She says the Game and Fish will now look more closely for other Chronic Wasting cases in Fremont County.
