Laramie, WY – In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Linda Burt of the Wyoming ACLU will give a talk on the state of civil rights in Wyoming.
She'll speak to the NAACP in Casper on Saturday. Burt says she'll highlight issues her organization thinks need improvement in Wyoming.
"There are some specific areas in Wyoming that are still bringing about some bitter controversy in those areas of lesbian, gay and transsexual rights, as well as the new issues that we have involving immigration and immigrants," Burt said.
Burt says the Wyoming ACLU's focus in the coming years will be on improving the juvenile justice system.
