Community Colleges are raising tuition by four percent or about two dollars a credit hour. It means the average full time student will pay about 684-dollars a semester. Policy Analyst Andrea Bryant says the increase was studied closely by the Community College Commission to make sure costs were still affordable.
Bryant notes that Colorado increased its rates by seven percent, and other states increased tuition by double digits. The increase is part of the college systems five year plan.
