Congress Considers Wolf Bill

Washington D-C – The Wyoming Wildlife Federation is praising Senator John Barrasso for introducing legislation in Congress that would pay ranchers for livestock killed by wolves. The group's director, Walt Gasson, says the bill is a very positive move.
This is a species of national interest. We're all interested in wolf management whether you live in the Florida Keys or whether you live in southeast Alaska.

This gives us all an opportunity to pay for the costs.

Seantor Jon Tester of Montana is also sponsoring the bill. It would authorize states to reimburse ranchers with federal money. It would also make federal grants available for improved fencing, guard dogs and other wolf deterrents
