County GOP leaders get called

Laramie, WY – As January 5th draws near, Republican leaders in counties across the state say they are in consistent contact with national presidential campaigns.

Crook County Chairman Bruce Brown says staffers for many of the Republican candidates are calling to see which way voters will lean at January's county convention, among other things.

Platte County Chairman Randy Stevenson says he can get several calls a week from nearly all the major campaigns. Wyoming's county conventions fall two days after the Iowa caucus and three days before New Hampshire's primary.

Starting this week, Wyoming counties will hold Republican precinct caucuses. That's the preliminary event leading up to the state GOP county conventions on January 5th.
