The University of Wyoming women’s volleyball team begins play this weekend in the UniWyo Wyoming invitational.
The Cowgirls return all six starters from last year and have been picked to finish third in the Mountain West Conference. Head Coach Carrie Yerty says the team has set some big goals this year, including an appearance in the NCAA tournament. She says Wyoming is a very close knit team.
“They really bond together, our chemistry is amazing and they lift each other up. It’s an amazing combination when you have physicalness, athleticism and you have trust and faith in each other.”
Wyoming opens play Friday afternoon against Presbyterian College and 1:30 and plays again at seven against San Francisco. They have two additional contests on Saturday. All matches will be played at UniWyo Sports Complex.
