Rawlins, Wyoming – A crash involving six tractor-trailers on
Interstate 80 has killed one person and injured two others.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the crash happened around six
this morning (Wednesday) about eleven miles east of Wamsutter.
The highway's westbound lanes were closed for a time, but
traffic has since resumed along westbound I-80.
The road was icy at the time of the crash and light fog had
reduced visibility to around a quarter-mile. After the first crash,
six other vehicles were involved in three separate crashes in the
Highway Patrol Sergeant Steve Townsend says two people were
taken to Carbon County Memorial Hospital in Rawlins. One of those
people has been released, but the other remained hospitalized.
