Crews battling 4-square-mile wildfire in Wyo

NEWCASTLE, Wyo. – A federal team is expected to take over management of a nearly 4-square-mile wildfire in northeast Wyoming.

The Whoop Up fire is burning on federal land about 10 miles southeast of Newcastle. The 14-home Ferguson Canyon Subdivision and two homes in South Dakota south of U.S. 16 have been evacuated.

Federal officials say two firefighters have been treated for heat-related incidents and another has been treated for an injury from a fall.

The fire was reported early Monday But it's still not known how it started.
