Casper, Wy – The Wyoming Democratic Party has elected a
new chairman. Democrats met Saturday in Casper, where they chose Cheyenne
ophthalmologist Doctor John Millin to be party chairman. Millin has been serving as party treasurer, and is the husband
of Cheyenne state Representative Lori Millin. He says he's been
planning to run for chairman for some time, and that Mike Gierau's
arrest in March on a D-U-I charge had nothing to do with his decision to run.
Millin says he hopes to expand the party's outreach in all 23
Wyoming counties. He says in a state as Republican as Wyoming, any
effort to turn out votes can help.
