Democrats Hope To Advance In Senate Primary

Laramie, Wy – Both of Wyoming's Senate Seats are on the line this year and today democrats will be asked to select the challengers for the state's two incumbent Republicans. Republican Senior Senator Mike Enzi will either face University of Wyoming Instructor Chris Rothfuss or Perennial candidate Al Hamburg. Republican Senator John Barrasso, who was chosen to replace the late Senator Craig Thomas, will enter his first general election facing either Gillette Attorney Nick Carter or former Casper State Senator Keith Goodenough. Carter has outspent Goodenough and has used the campaign season to focus mostly on Barrasso. The Democrat will have an uphill battle. Wyoming's last Democrat in the Senate was Gail McGee. Wyoming has had an all republican delegation since 1978.
