Pinedale, Wyo. – The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality is hosting a public meeting in Pinedale on studies of winter ozone in the Upper Green River Basin. Today's meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Sublette County Library.
The meeting takes place ahead of plans by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to lower the nationwide limit for ozone pollution. Those regulations could affect western Wyoming's gas industry.
Emissions from the industry have caused periodic problems with wintertime ozone and smog in western Wyoming in recent years. Industry officials say they've taken significant steps to reduce air pollution.
