Laramie, Wy – The President of the Dakota Montana and Eastern Railroad says he is ready to acquire land to bring his railroad through Campbell county to haul more coal and other minerals to more outside markets. The project continues to be opposed by several landowners who are concerned about impacts to their land. Wyoming Mining Association Director Marion Loomis says the project is important to his industry.
Loomis thinks the other railroads in the area are doing a great job, but he says another railroad would enhance their industry. Those in the agriculture industry fear that the railroad will impose new hardships on producers who are already have a tough time.
