Eastern Shoshone Closer to Opening a Casino

Laramie, Wy – The state and the Eastern Shoshone tribe signed a deal today (Wednesday) opening the door for the tribe to open a casino with games like black jack and roulette. Wyoming's other tribe; the Northern Arapahoe already have a similar agreement in place.
Governor Dave Freudenthal says that he appreciates the work of the Eastern Shoshone, though he also says this is not the position he wanted to see the state in because he'll never be happy about this situation, but he is happy with how the negotiations went. And he says it is important to have both tribes operating on a level playing field, but notes this was inevitable after the ruling the the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
The 10th Circuit ruled that Wyoming under the Geringer did not negotiate in good faith with the Northern Arapahoe tribe over gambling.
