A Cheyenne businessman is the fifth Republican to announce his candidacy for Secretary of State. Ed Murray owns a real estate and investment company and wants to use his business experience to update the office of Secretary of State. Among his goals are to make the position more business friendly.
“And this of course includes just advancing our technological systems so that we can better serve the people, proactively fight business frauds and scams, and then on the elections side of the duties and responsibilities of the office we want to safeguard our elections and practices.”
Murray says he also wants to lend his business expertise to various state boards that the Secretary of State sits on. Incumbent Max Maxfield is not seeking re-election.
