Education Gets Donated Dollars
Laramie, Wy – The University of Wyoming today (Friday)
dedicated a new classroom honoring former State Superintendent of
Public Instruction Judy Catchpole.
The College of Education had received a 250-thousand-dollar gift
from the McMurry family of Casper, which asked that a classroom be
named for Catchpole -- who served two terms as superintendent from
1995 to 2003.
The naming is part of the college's
three-point-eight-(M)-million dollar renovation project, which
includes nine additional classrooms, a seminar room and two student
lounges in the new Education Classroom Building.
Mick and Susie McMurry have also contributed to a new U-W
conference center and to the Wyoming Technology Business Center, as
well as a large donation for athletics, which was announced today.
