Energy office uses of stimulus funds

Cheyenne, Wy – Due to a surprising response, the state energy office says it has exhausted all the federal stimulus money for its residential renewable energy program. Manager Shannon Stanfill thought it would take six months to use up the money, but demand was so great that it only took ten days. She says they are funding a variety of projects.
"We have 100 requests for solar, 115 for small wind projects and 18 requests for ground source heat.
Stanfill says many of the homeowners could not afford these projects before. She says since there is an obvious interest in the program, they will look for other ways to help people develop similar projects.
