Laramie, WY – Senator Mike Enzi joined a bipartisan group of U-S Senators who are trying to end the restrictions that keep Americans from visiting Cuba. The Senators say allowing travel would break down the trade and economic barriers between the two countries. Enzi says the United States Trade and Travel bans have failed for 50 years. He also notes that it would bring activities in Cuba to the light of day, that leaders in that country want secret.
Business and Farm groups would like to see trade restrictions eliminated and new markets opened. The Obama administration has said that it is willing to eliminate the travel restrictions, but currently has no interest in lifting trade restrictions.
