Enzi's Bill is A Dose of Good Medicine for Wyo. Pharmacies
Laramie, WY – US Senator Mike Enzi is co-sponsoring a bill that will help a group struggling to stay afloat in Wyoming and across the nation...the community pharmacist. Part of Enzi's bill would ensure that pharmacists are reimbursed for their services every two weeks. The Wyoming Pharmacy Association's Kara Beech supports the plan. She says that right now some pharmacies don't receive compensation for up to 45 days after a transaction. That makes doing business difficult.
Earning margins on prescription drugs are minimal, which means every dollar counts for a small business owner. And Beech says small pharmacies can't compete with the buying power of a corporate chain. She says many smaller communities in Wyoming still rely on these struggling independent businesses for medication.
