Etna, WY – The school board in northern Lincoln county is continuing to pursue Etna as the choice for a new elementary school. This after parent in Alpine and a court decision asked the board to reconsider. Alpine parents believe locating the school in their community would cut down on the number of hours young children ride the bus. Superintendent Jerry Mauer says the board did consider this issue, but board members felt Etna was more centrally located. An attorney for the parent group calls the deicision "short-sighted" and say they may pursue the matter in court or with the school facilities commission.
