A University of Wyoming Faculty Senate Survey says the school has pressing systemic problems with leadership and hiring practices.
Edward Janak is the chair of the UW faculty Senate. He says more faculty need to step up to voice concerns and faculty input into university decisions need to be taken more seriously by administrators.
Now that President McGinity has made it very clear and the Board of Trustees have made it clear, yes we are going to be engaging in this search. There's going to be a lot of faculty with a lot of questions about that.
He also says the upcoming presidential search is a key concern.
"Now that President McGinity has made it very clear and the Board of Trustees have made it clear, yes we are going to be engaging in this search. There’s going to be a lot of faculty with a lot of questions about that. So I think making that process as open as possible and well communicated as possible is absolutely essential."
Janak says adding a faculty senate member to serve on the Board of Trustees would help address many of the issues.
