First 8 Months Rough for Big Sky Airlines

Casper, WY – Communities looking to improve their air service have until June 30 to apply for a federal grant program designed to help small towns. A year ago, a joint proposal by Casper and Gillette was one of those to receive grant money. The counties matched the $500,000 federal grant and used the money to buy a 19-seat airplane. The plane was leased to Big Sky Airlines, which has been flying a Casper-Gillette-Billings route since late October. But it's been a bumpy first eight months as Wyoming Public Radio's Aaron Alpern reports
