Cheyenne, WY – One of the more popular bills moving through the legislature this year is the permanent removal of the sales tax on food. Today it passed the revenue committee in the Senate. Officials from cities and counties are still concerned about the loss of revenue they'll have to deal with. Senator Kit Jennings says he does not want them to lose any money. And so he says the legislature will have to come up with a formula to replace the revenue. This bill already passed the House. It now heads to the floor of the Senate for further debate. The governor has said he supports getting rid of the tax on food.
