Food Tax Cut Gets Approval

Cheyenne, Wy – Casper Representative Ann Robinson's long time attempt to remove a sales tax on food got support from the House Revenue Committee. Robinson's House bill 214 is legislation that she thinks is fair because a sales tax on food hurts the poorest people.
The bill would cost the state 16 million dollars a year, and will now head to the Appropriations Committee before it goes to the floor. Robinson says if that happens, it will be the first time in her nine years that the issue has come up for debate.
